Creative, Hardworking, Focused, Team-player
Hello! My name is Brittany Webster. I am a student athlete at Auburn University majoring in public relations and minoring in business. I am from a small suburb of Kansas City, Missouri, and came to Auburn to get a degree from a revered school and compete in the sport I love. Auburn has proven an ideal venue for me to accomplish these things.
I am studying public relations to apply my creative thinking and writing skills. I have learned how to capture the attention of readers while ensuring the key messages of communication are delivered. It is a fun and fascinating challenge to determine the best way to reach your audience and get your message across.
My internship in the sports marketing department at Auburn Athletics has afforded me the opportunity to learn how to plan and execute special events such as A Day for Auburn football and Pearl Jam for Auburn basketball.
A large part of who I am is attributed to being a student-athlete and the many years of practice and competition that prepared me to become a member of the Auburn Gymnastics team. As a student athlete I have developed strong time management and organizational skills. These skills enable me to practice 20 hours per week, carry a full academic schedule and maintain a GPA over 3.5.
Being on the gymnastics team I’ve learned how to appreciate a wide range of personalities and work styles. I greatly enjoy being a member of a team and having the chance to make a significant contribution to the team’s goals by my individual performance. I take pride in my work and strive to continually improve my skills and abilities. It has been my honor to represent Auburn as a Scholar Athlete and as a member of the All SEC Team.
I have a passion for travel and experiencing new cultures. I have traveled extensively, including visiting England and France as part of the Auburn Study Abroad Program. Learning how other people live and how they view the world intrigues me. I’ve also been to Italy, South Africa and the Caribbean. It fascinates me that no matter where in the world you are a “war eagle” is never far away from a member of the Auburn Family.
In my spare time I enjoy binge watching Netflix and playing with my dog. My dream after graduation is to obtain a career in public relations or wherever my heart leads me. As my time here at Auburn comes to a close, I want to thank all the people along the way who helped and inspired me to pursue my dreams, and never let a little hard work stop me from achieving my dreams.
